Christ was never a religious figure, he was a revolutionary. In an attempt to convert the world (which is not what Jesus called us to) the church has watered down and degraded the biblical message.

I'm not trying to evangelize here, just hear me out. Jesus sought to love people, not judge and condemn them. The church has screwed up his message. They have turned a man who loved and accepted all equally into the cause for the crusades, the holocaust, and now this government in the US, but to blame that on Christ is ridiculous.

I don't associate with the label Christian, because it has lost it's meaning (in the image of Christ), but I do publicly appologize for all that Christians have done, and ask your forgiveness. I hope we can enter into an honest discussion about religion and it's destruction of what Christ intended to be beautiful. It's easy to bash the Church (and they deserve it).

The church has become very screwed up, but can we really blame that on the inspiration for that movement? The corrupted government in Cuba today isn't blamed on Che Guevara. Stalin's misdeeds weren't blamed on Trostsky or Lenin. China's government isn't blamed on Marx.

I support all bashing of the Church and Christian, but I would challenge anybody to find any wrong in the persona of Jesus. I believe that the Benny Hinns, Jerry Faulwells, Pat Robertsons and James Dobsons of today resemble the Pharisees (who were Jesus' bigest enemies) much more than they represented Christ's disciples. So maybe we need to look at this in a different light.
