Respect your Husband ..... ...and yourself...
Behind every successful man, there is a dutiful wife. This has always been true. In fact, no better example of Tradition can be found than the Tradition of marriage.
We all have our roles to play. The man is the breadwinner, and you are the homemaker. It is a glorious calling. Learn to love it.
All women strive to be perfect wives, but an important part of this is respecting your husband. As you learn to properly respect your husband, you will come to respect yourself as well.
| Never contradict him. He gets enough of that at work. Make his easedown from the workday smoother. Prepare the home for him. It should be clean, tidy and in good repair. | ![]() He is your reason for being |
![]() He should never have to help you in the kitchen -- even if he offers | When he has had a particularly rough day at the office, do not bother him with chit-chat. Instead, offer him a foot-massage. He should never have to ask, "When's dinner ready?" It must be ready for him when he gets home. A good wife not only works hard to please her man -- she also works hard to make it look easy. Don't whine. Don't you think his life is at least ten times harder than yours? |
| Every family faces some measure of hardship. In times of stress, you must offer your husband fellatio. But don't enjoy it. (That's slutty.) Hone your skills by practicing on broomsticks or cucumbers. By all means, be careful with the teeth. | ![]() Watch those teeth! |
By carefully following these guidelines to the letter, domestic bliss can and will be yours! You will be a happy little homemaker, just like your mother.

This is largely what society expects. My boyfriend is a christian and he too expects this. I tell him arelationship is 50/50. I refuse to go to school then work a 8 - 12 hour shift, to come home to tidy up , give a blow job or any of the other like. He's not helpless.

I agree to everything in this article exccept the fellatio part as this(not the fellatio but the submission) works very well in our home(and it has nothing to do with fellatio as you can also do that without submitting to your husband otherwise.)
I would be very interested in YOUR frame work for a happy marriage.

well, ok, from a man's point of view (and a Christian to boot) . . .
It's not 50/50. It's 100/100. I thought for a long time that I was driven by sex, only to find out it is respect that is my number 1 need.
I am struggling to learn that my wife's number 1 need is love and affection (totally UN-related to sex by the way).
Doesn't it make sense that if you give your spouse what they need, that your need will come back to you? Well, you receive back what you give out. You sow what you reap.
If you give your mate what they need most, or communicate "love" to them in the way they most understand it, you will reap love in return.
What this means is that women (wives) need to somehow communicate to their men (husbands) that they truly respect them.
And, men (husbands) need to somehow communicate to their women (wives) that they truly love them.
Hmmmm, that probably sounds almost Biblical, doesn't it?

No offense, but I learned to respect the people I love without referring to the Bible. And actually, you can point to relatively few verses that exhort husbands to love their wives (Eph. 5:21-29, Col. 3:19, and 1 Peter 3:7). However, each of the above verses in context, plus the overwhelming number of verses that either explicitly or implicitly treat women as lesser people or even property teach us that the Bible isn't exactly the best place to look for guidance in matters of the heart.
As a decent person, you've adopted (or have been raised with) modern ideas and attached them to a few Biblical verses. Thus, you believe what you said was biblical, when the reality is that it simply makes good sense.

...makes good sense... Well, yes. IT makes very good sense, but that perspective makes sense because the law of love. Yeshua said, "By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another" And don't forget 1 cor 13 all about love. He also said, "Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul and with all your mind and Love your neighbour as yourself." That is, the whole of the law is summed up in that phrase. Love, superseded the other bible verses you allege treat women as less than human, or as property. It is about mutual submission, wanting what is good for the other person, not as you see it, but as they see it. If they are average in their life and desires that will not be a burden to anyone man or woman.

I don't agree with the wording, "Behind every successful husband". When God created Adam, He also wanted to provide him with a help meet, so than he created Eve from Adams Rib. The rib is located on his side not his back... But, The "Behind" every great husband, I can only see that as when a woman is working behind the scenes helping that man get to where God wants him to be. And That, is the way I see the "Behind" part of a Great Successful Husband.
