News of interest to former Christians

In divorce court: Megachurch pastor Jamal-Harrison Bryant and his wife of 5 1/2 years, Gizelle Bryant.

She filed in Montgomery County on Jan. 9, alleging adultery. She states in court papers that the pastor makes more than $350,000 a year.

He filed in Baltimore City the same day. His complaint says nothing about cheating. It does state that "there is no hope of reconciliation."

"This is a private matter between Dr. Bryant and his wife, and we'd like to keep this matter private," said Jimmy A. Bell, lawyer for the Empowerment Temple pastor.

The couple have three children, 1-year-old twins and a 3-year-old.

The big question: Who gets the Bentley?

"there is no hope of reconciliation."

But with god all things are poss...what? What's that you say? No hope? Well...in that case....

With god MOST things are somewhat achievable, to some extent, but don't count on it getting done anytime soon, if ever.

If god was anything they try and make him to be,the pastor would consider the children first. But he isn't, is he?

I love how all these pastors call themselves "Dr." when they don't have any kind of legitimate degree. What an ego trip these idiots are on! Guess they skipped over the part about being a humble Christian.

Yeah, well, what ever happened to forgiveness? I bet this pastor's wife advised forgiveness to many a betrayed wife.

Forgiveness is fine and dandy when Christians are giving advice. But when it is their turn to turn the other chick, well, in their case it is justified to remain bitter.

Hypocrites!

Sorry to be the asshole, Lorena, but...

maybe she does forgive him, and still feels a divorce is the right thing. If my wife cheated on me, I could forgive her, but we would definitely get divorced.

We have to ask ourselves - why are churches tax free? They are businesses with bottom lines and employees. If they donate certain amounts to charity then those certain amounts should be exempt FOR THAT just as we are. But when they generate obscene amounts from the sheep of the world why are they not not taxed as we secular fools are?

Maybe we should all learn the rules of the game and declair OUR businesses as religions and enjoy the same benefits as those crass enough to take advantage of the grandiosity of the masses!

But there are two things you don't do in America - queation Christianity's motives and question the suffering of the Jews!

Turning the other chick is what caused the problem in the first place. (Sorry, Lorena, just couldn't resist.)
