The pastor of a small Washington County church has been arrested and charged with second-degree rape and second-degree sodomy for an incident that allegedly occurred nearly 10 years ago with a 15-year-old girl.

The Rev. Leonard Frazier, 55, of Stonewall Baptist Church nearChatom, was arrested Tuesday and released from Mobile County Metro Jail on $15,000 bail, according to jail records.

The alleged victim is now in her mid-20s, said Mobile County assistant district attorney Steve Giardini.

"It took a number of years for her to come forward," he said.

Alabama does not have a statute of limitations involving sex crimes against children.

Giardini said he didn't know if the woman was ever a member of Frazier's church, but that she knew him through her family.

The chairman of Stonewall's deacon board expressed surprise at the allegations against Frazier.

"I find him to be a righteous man, and his life has always been lined up with the word," Roscoe Gatson said.

What he actually means is "A Self-Righteous Man".

I'm sure they will claim that it all happened because it was God's will, and that God is going to use it for the good of everyone else.

These morons are out of control.

I wonder how Mr. Gatson knows about the pastor's righteousness. I would only say something like that about a person I was handcuffed with. Nobody deserves such level of trust--Christian or not.

Hmmm - the word includes sodomizing 15 year old girls, apparently?

Where was their god that day?

"Where was their god that day?"

Oh, according to christians this all happened as the result of a fallen world, and man's free will.

For some strange reason God feels the need to punish the rest of human society because of the actions of 2 people who existed thousands of years ago, who none of us have ever met.

I tell you where God was that day. He was sitting on his worthless ass in "Non-Existence".

I remember back when I worked for this Baptist Center in the projects a few years back, and a police officer came in wanting to know where he could find this one guy who had stolen something.

The director of the Baptist Center told me not to tell him anything, however I took the the police aside in private and told him anyway, and he went and arrested the dead beat.

Don't you just love the way these forgiving christians are willing to protect criminals? They should go to jail themselves for aiding and abetting known criminals.

This is the price the pastor must pay, according to the Bible he preaches.

"If your right eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell. And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to go into hell" (Matthew 5:29-30)."

That's right, he must castrate himself. But is this hypocrite going to live up to God's word? No way!

I need to say something about this...We don't know the facts and until we do, we cannot assume to know what really happened. My husband was falsely assused of rape, he never went to court to depend himself because it never made it to court. I believe that his accuser was probably embarrassed about the horrible things that would be said about her if it ever made it to court, for she is definitely a character. We live in a society where a woman can scream rape at any time (or vice versa) and the man is already guilty. Looking at this page tells me that you have already put him on the guillotine without knowing a thing about the case. Maybe he's quilty, maybe not, but the fact remains that no case has been heard on this situation yet, so you may want to put your knifes and guns away for now.

How do you know for sure that your husband was not guilty?
