The former pastor of the
Revival Center in Vincent is charged with murder in the October 2005 shooting death of his wife.
Timothy Dane Tillman, 43, was in the
Shelby County Jail this evening with bond set at $500,000 after being returned from central Florida earlier in the day. He is charged with intentional murder, said Shelby County Chief Assistant District Attorney Bill Bostick.
Tillman is accused of deliberately shooting his wife, Janet Lorita Tillman, 40, at the couple's
Vincent home on Oct. 26, 2005. The death was investigated by Vincent police and the Alabama Bureau of Investigation.
Tillman had contended the shooting was accidental and occurred when his shotgun accidentally fired while he was cleaning it, striking his wife in the back.

True, but neither do you. I believe everyone will be shocked when and if the truth comes out.

Holy shit!
You can't follow simple directions. That's #1. And now you say that a murderer (if that's what this guy is) only has to answer to Jesus and not to the rest of society?
What a moronic statement to make!
Is Tim Tillman still in jail? When does he go to trial?
Tim did not appeal to me at all--but Janet was a wonderful person. I knew her from church and school and she was a hardworking wife and mother and did not deserve a husband like him.
He will pay for what he did to her, remember he's in jail and has been for months and Big Bubba in the Big House likes pretty boys.
All of that is fact, none of it rumor, I have heard TONS of rumors but did not include any here as they are unsubstantiated and just hear-say.
I am sorry for all the people he hurt, he truly is a monster.
My email is rachelkennedy1@msn.com if anyone is from Minnesota and was there then or if anyone has any questions for me. I was there and have facts, not just rumors.
To expose predators requires logic and unbiased inspection of the facts; which are ignored and denounced by religious leaders and followers, such that the pastor gets to keep their word play job, and followers get to escape reality.
Only, 'after' the sheep see a few slaughtered, do they want to involve themselves - but not, to pursue logic as a means to live a healthy life facing reality, but as a mere temporary necessity to protect themselves.
Once the sheep feel safe, they return to the life-styly that exposed them originally.
One, may ponder for a moment at who is more responsible for such a travesty; the authority figure behind the pulpit whose profession benefits from the non-use of logic, the followers who select their religious leader based on non-logical terms, i.e., appearance, charisma, emotion, little voices, sensations, 'faith', good-ol'-boy network, etc., or - the arbitrary system of religion that has no rules or logical guidance, because 'faith' is the primary instrument of the profession itself.
Followers invest money and time, in the person they prop up as pastor, in order to receive a return on their investment (ROI), one can only wonder what such a 'return' looks like; building and protecting a good christian family's reputation and name, i.e., wedding daughters in white who are known to not be virgins, vouching as character witnesses in court for followers who commit crimes, giving positive eulogies for criminal miscreants suggesting they are in heaven in order to protect the family namesake and their personal paycheck (even if the paycheck is in the form of community prestige).
Quite frankly, I have yet to hear a negative eulogy - it's all rosy, fake, and pre-paid.
In medieval days it was important to get the blessing of the local religious leader, for almost every major endeavor, after all, it was the church that invented the ceremonial wedding and western economic system in order to control followers (who they married and where they worked, etc), etc., else the family was considered rebellious and abused by the community and church.
Honestly, it's not that some don't share concern for a fellow citizen losing their life to a religious parasite; but, entire nations have lost citizens due to religious parasites and blind followers. Blind followers being; those who elect people to positions for personal gain (that would be all followers who elect, support and pay tithes to a pastor, etc), and without any other means to determine professional credibility, because that requires some level of logic. Just to ensure we understand "credibility", a PhD in interpretive literature does not make a person educated - nor one of virtue and wisdom.
Everything religious is reactive; a pastor cheats and kills, and 'then' the law & followers figure it out, in theory; followers will die, and only then do they find out if they are 'truly' saved or not.
Everything religious, forces a follower to seek understanding after events unfold - and based on personal interpretation.
In such a religious system, one can only honestly propose that the underlying principle of religion itself - faith - is the very factor that will continue to "foster" and "facilitate" ongoing trauma to humanity - as it has for thousands of years.
While there are many religious followers who seem genuinely appalled at the behavior of this religious leader; they do not denounce:
-The means by which he came into power at the local church
-The faith based system that facilitated and protected his true nature
Such sentiment is hollow, and self-serving. Instead of addressing the real problem of unregulatable faith based religions, followers are more than eager to offer up their religious leader sacrifice while suggesting he was never really a true christian in order to protect their faith based investment.
Christianity does have rules and guidelines which are given them in the Bible. The Old Testament was full of them. People were unable to fulfill all of them because of their sinful nature, so God sent his son, Jesus, so that we all might have the opportunity to receive the forgiveness and grace he offered us...IF we choose to do so. Unfortunately, many choose otherwise. That does not mean that if you receive his grace you can go around killing your spouse because you have a free ride to Heaven. God tells us that if we truly love Him, we will be obedient to His laws. If you truly love God, I don't think you will kill your spouse. A true Christian seeks wholeheartedly to please God and love Him in everything they do.
Regarding Medieval times and beyond, you are correct. Many have lost lives because of religious persecution and religious parasites. There were inquests with charges of heresy, kings and entire empires were excommunicated from the church because of political disagreements, money, or different religious opinions, etc. However, those who committed these injustices were obviously not living by the teachings of Jesus, they may have been using God's name, but they were only following their own greedy, sinful desires. In my opinion, that is exactly what Tim Tillman was doing.
You say that many followers are appalled, but do not denounce the means by which this man came into power in the church, nor do they denounce the faith-based system that protected him. You say that they are offering this man up as a sacrifice saying he was never a true Christian only to protect their religious investment. That may be true for some, but I believe that most are smarter than that. The Bible says to be wise as a serpent and gentle as a dove. I believe that those who see this man for what he truly is, realize that he was using God's name for his own selfish means. That IS appalling. I think anyone who sees that is also appalled that the church leaders were not wise enough to check up on him before allowing him to become a leader. Those who continue to protect this parasite are as guilty as he. However, denouncing our faith in God is never an option.
I think that Christians should wake up and not be just stupid sheep following whatever human leads them. They should be wise enough to search for the truth (or lack thereof) in everyone. There are many good, honest people in the world, but even they have a sinful nature.
One thing I have learned is to not put my faith in people. God uses good people to do His work, but ultimately, faith should be in Him.
