News of interest to former Christians

LITTLETON - A local woman says a pastor now preaching in Tulsa, Oklahoma bilked her father of hundreds of thousands of dollars.

According to Sandy Chrisman, Reverend Johnny Chambers encouraged her dad to give him and his worship center in Arizona his entire life savings, more than $300,000.

Chrisman's dad died in 1997 and she has been looking for the money and for answers ever since.

"It's really master manipulation," said Chrisman, "give and it shall be given to you."

She said her father, Robert Stickel, met Chambers at a revival in Arizona in 1997.

In six months, he gave the Chambers and the Chambers' Worship Center all the money he had.

"I mean come on, $314,000 gone, the guy goes around the country and does this," she said.

Chrisman says her dad gave the money, hoping Chambers could heal her brother of brain cancer.

"They would say. 'If you will give all your money Bob, I know I've never met you before, I know God will heal your son,'" said Chrisman. "It was really an act of love. My dad would do anything for his son. I believe that's exactly what happened."

Not long after Stickel died, his family sued. In 2002, a U.S. District Court in Arizona ordered Chambers to repay the money, plus interest to the estate.

To this day, the Chrismans say they have not seen a dime.

"He's been hiding his assets he's been hiding where he is. He's hidden everything," said Chrisman.

The Chrismans say they finally found Chambers at a revival in Tulsa this month. He was served with a subpoena ordering him and his ex-wife Natalie to show up and produce documentation of all their assets Tuesday.

"A pastor should be held to a higher level of accountability behind the pulpit," said Jeff Chrisman, Sandy's husband. "Preying on people's fears, hopes and dreams to further his financial gain. It's not religion, that's a scam."

After nine years of trying to find their father's money, the family hopes the legal system will finally help them find peace.

If Chambers does not show for the meeting and does not produce the required documents, a warrant could be issued for his arrest.

Chambers did not return calls for comment from 9NEWS.

I should give this guy my father and mother's address, all anyone would have to do knock on the door and say "I'm a Christian and I Love Jesus, please give me all your money to show your love towards Jesus." They are just as stupid and ignorant as the next christian.

As I said before, if you need a god to worship to fulfill your religious and spiritual needs, try worshipping a dead god like the ancient Greek God Zeus. This surely won't happen to you if you worshipped Zeus.

http://sailerfraud.blogspot.com/2006/11/proof-god-is-not-republican.html

1) No one will ever chastise or threaten you because you did not give enough heart, soul, time, and money to Zeus.

2) You don't have to give any money to Zeus because no one is watching or employed by the house of Zeus.

3) Zeus doesn't care, nor will his priests threaten and manipulate you, because you did not vote Republican.

4) Zeus doesn't have any priests who will try to molest or rape you.

5) Zeus doesn't have any priests who will hate you because of your ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or background.

6) You can pray to Zeus for miracles, such as healing from a terminal disease like cancer, and receive the same 99.99% failure rate as praying to the Christian God. The only difference is Zeus doesn't ask you for money.

Wow! Pastor Johnny sure helped them see the light and the truth in a hurry. Maybe they will be here soon. ;)

Sailerfraud,

Forget Zeus. Try the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster. They never ask for money and once you've been touched by His noodly appendage, you'll never be the same.

Sailerfraud, dude.....Jebus IS a "dead god", a 2000 year ago "dead god" You don't get any deader than that! Zeus, on the other hand might still be around :)

My first reaction was, "Only 300K?"
Turns out I was right. These are the only people who have sued. There is no telling how many others were swindled and haven't said anything.

Gotta-fix,

Jebus probably is dead, But, the Christ, named Jesus, of God, is not... Zeus, was a mythylogical god of Greece, which I tenr to think was not really a Myth but a Demon, For Zeus is called the god of gods among the Greeks. and His face is used in Christendom for the face of Jesus in Christian Art, and Paintings etc...Zeus had long hair Jesus the Christ did not wear long hair...
Zeus in all probability is still around, if he was really a demon in disguise, which I do think...

Celestial seasoning said: Joe, you might not know, But, God, and His Christ, does not need your money, or my money

Do you bring a sheep and a ram to the offering plate each Sunday?

God, and His Christ, does not need your money, or my money. "What would the owner of the Universe need what we claim as ours which is not...

Lorena
Stop giving Him money then. Money was persistently asked for at all of the 300,000 churches I went to. If God didn't need money, and christianity preached the REAL god, then churches would sprout up like trees. No fund raising would be needed to build the megachurches.
Use your brain for once, Celestial. I am sure you have somewhere--dust it up and use it.

Celestial
His vain creatures us, He needs nothing that we have to offer

Lorena
Geezz, Celestial. Speak for yourself, will you? The rest of us are worthy, intelligent, incredibly capable individuals who contribute our taxes and our abilities to society at large. We are not vain--we are awesome.

Ye must pay your user taxes(tithes) to god.

Want to get 10% interest on your money? Quit giving it to god (the preacher).

Another thing about Zeus was his son Hercules. At the approximate time Hercules sprung up, a Biblical character named Samson who has immense strength unless his hair was cut emerged. Both Hercules and Samson had contact with the gods, both had 12 tasks to complete, and both had immense strength.

Coincidence? Not quite.

As I said, if you need spiritual fulfillment, try worshipping Zeus instead.

I wish this woman luck in getting her father's money back, but it WAS her father's money to give (or be scammed out of) not hers. She probably doesn't have much recourse here.

Yes Anonymous---when I'm pointing a finger at Christians, there's definitely three pointing back at me--- my first finger, ring finger, and pinky. Why?...because most Christians use their bibles to justify their own prejudice. For the Christians who do not?...they'd likely be decent human beings without religion. Sad.

No one can force another to give any money to them. It was of free will and apparently they want to be important. So they get what they are buying.

Anonymous joe said...
No witnesses, no crime.

First of all this money wasn't given freely for favors and no stupidity on the family side. no one got anything other than the scammers. no fraud either(execpt the scam). it goes to show you that people are mean and vendictive and only care about themselves and what they can get in this world they will all be judged in the end as will all of us.

Anonymous Anonymous said...
xxchristian

You have spoken about something you remain ignorant about. There is so much more happening in this case than you know about and everyone will just have to wait. Before you judge like most other bad christians, why don't you just wait and see what happens next. It's comin and it's good!!!

You post on an ex-christian website wanting people to believe so, but you are the BAD christian or should I say an ex now? You will take it even to this length. It's not that good from what I understand. The others from the other side are winning. They have proof because you gave the information. The paper already knows about it all.

$$$$$$$$$$$

Since you are also a scammer you got something out of it. You are also mean and vindictive, in fact, the queen of mean. Your judgment day is also approaching and are you ready? There is very strong evidence that you were the scammer and in turn got scammed because they got to you first. You now show others how to do it. How does it feel oh righteous one? It will be very soon that you will be exposed. When money is given freely it is spent as one sees fit and you get what you buy.

If it is coming and its good then are you ready to air your own dirty laundry as a scammer and what you have done to others?

Anonymous Jessie said...
No one is judging but you, who has a vindictive nature. You seem to be on the defensive; apparently you are guilty of judging others, because they do not believe or see your ways.

Anonymous Anonymous said...
jc & sc since you turned traitor and gave the other side some information it will be interesting to see how they use it against you. Apparently you have dug your own hole to crawl into. Newspapers like stories and you have given it to them.

Anonymous Anonymous said...
No proof! No crime!

Anonymous Anonymous said...
I like all this he said she said.
I wounder why all this anger is directed at a family who got scammed. Dont you think they have all suffered enough? I think all of you will be judged for what has been said here. good luck to you all loosers

Anonymous Anonymous said...
Get a life all you people I think its funny!!!

Anonymous Anonymous said...
This family was not scammed. They are the one's who have done the scamming. Running around professing they are PIs. Isn't that funny? These idiots haven't suffered if you know them. They are like blood suckers. They got what they deserved. Next their names will be in the newspapers for all to see how much more of an idiot they are instead of the one's they are accusing. Yes, they need to get a life and they are not just funny but hilarious to boot. Does everyone know that they post their garbage on this ex-christian website, but belong to a church to teach others how to do some scamming? They use this website to vent their dirty laundry.

Anonymous Anonymous said...
why would anyone want to be a Christian when they fight amongst themselves. Wow ! These two posting these nasty things about the story used to be members of Johnny Chambers Revival. That speaks volumes. There is a letter stating from them that the Chambers were defrauding people.
I would take all of this with a grain of salt. They are out destroy God.

Anonymous Anonymous said...
Hey, speaking volumes.

You should know that NO ON CAN destroy God. What you have done is destroy YOUR relationship with HIM. There is a high volume of evidence that YOU have defrauded the people. There is evidence on you that YOU are a real phoney and have locked arms with the Chambers including your father. Your father was an elder in the Johnny Chambers Revival church when all this scamming and questionable things went around. We got away he didn't and their demons jumped on you. Now you are so obsessed that you scam others.
