Los Angeles CA — A pastor was charged Monday with multiple counts of sexually abusing two girls who attended his church in the San Fernando Valley, prosecutors said.

Joseph Gary Torres, 46, was ordered held on $2 million bail during an initial court appearance Monday, the district attorney's office said in a statement. He was arrested Thursday.

He allegedly met the girls at his Sunland church, Iglesia Bautista Reformada, which is Spanish for Reformed Baptist Church.

A call to the church seeking comment late Monday was not immediately returned.

Prosecutors contend he molested a 12-year-old girl several times from July to August last year. They claim he molested a 14-year-old girl from July 2005 to last month.

Torres was charged with 11 counts, including continuous sexual abuse, sexual penetration by a foreign object, sodomy by force, committing lewd act upon a child and oral copulation.

He faces up to 30 years in state prison if convicted of all counts.

Pastor, son arrested for alleged sexual abuse

LOS ANGELES — A pastor and his teenage son were arrested for investigation of sexually abusing three daughters of a member of the congregation, authorities said.

Josephy Gary Torres, 46, of Los Angeles, was arrested Thursday in El Monte, said police Officer Mike Lopez. Torres' son, whose name wasn't released because he is a juvenile, was detained Friday and later released into his mother's custody, Lopez said.

Torres is the pastor of Iglesia Bautista Reformada in Sunland, north of downtown Los Angeles. Police said the father of the three girls recently told authorities about the alleged molestations.

Torres is being held on $5.4 million bail.

Police believe there may be additional victims, but no other information was immediately available.

What miracles hath thou bestowed me? Asketh a pastor!

He is risen saith the Lord!!!

Go hence forth take thy wife, any wife and go yon way and be fruitful, produce and multiply thy seed and relpinish the Earth, bring forth abundantly and bring forth therein.

Take thine mistress and young virgin and ravish her with your charm and humour her and tease her and bring forth child, take as many virgins that you desire.

Take thy sons and share them among you and rejoice with song and wine and extasy.

This I command thee, saith the Lord!!!!

As a Christian for over the past 22 years, I find Mr. Stanley's comments about the alleged molestation charges against Mr. Torres almost as disheartening

as the alleged charges themselves.

Mr. Staley's comments are terribly insensitive to the alleged victims of the charges made against Mr. Torres'. At the risk of sounding insensitive to the victims myself, let me remind Mr. Stanley that, we live in a country, where our judicial system assumes that one is innocent until proven guilty by a court of law.

Furthermore, Mr. Stanley has sought to mock God, as he has taken portions of Holy Scripture out of context to express his apparent satisfaction that another professing Christian has fallen from grace.

Nowhere in the Scriptures will you find such alleged behavior as is made against Mr. Torres in the least bit acceptable. If God doesn't grant genuine

repentance and faith to such as these, then the worst kind of judgment and suffering awaits such sinners in the life hereafter.

Throughout biblical history, we find numerous examples of men and women, who have committed the most heinous kinds of sexual sins. No doubt, the worst being committed against children. Some have proven themselves hypocrites, which Jesus clearly taught that such hypocrisy will not be tolerated in the judgment. Yet, some have been restored by grace and have received mercy and forgiveness, demonstrating genuine repentance and faith through the eternal mercies of Almighty God. If Mr. Torres is proven guilty of these charges, then as we pray for the victims, let us also pray that God would be merciful and grant Mr. Torres repentance and forgiveness, which in no way cancels out whatever just punishment the State of California is pleased to hand out.

Ahh, if everything in life were scripted as black and white and cut and dried, as the Bible conveniently saves some by grace, then has a justified punishment to suit the crime, then the power of prayer, ah yes the all mending effect of prayer.

Do I mock God? I mock a belief, I mock you, mr. farese.com

Your responce comes from a mind that has decided that the Bible is absolute truth, with much surprize to you, it is not!

You are relying on book that you have been told it is truth, but who told you the Bible was true? God perhaps? Jesus perhaps? No, it was another human that has been convenced by another human and so on and so on.

You sir have based your belief on presumption, on a presumpion that a 2000 year old book holds a universal truth.

How did the Bible arrive in America? How did the Bible get over here? Did God cleverly plant it over here? Did Jesus bring over the Bible? No! It was brought over here from accross the water, by pilgrims fleeing religious persecution, so they come over here and then persecuted the Indians by killing them.

Who was the first person to discover America??? Columbus??? No!! The North American Indian!!!

It was a lie! The pilgrims were not persecuted, it's the same excuse the Christians use even today.

Had the pilgrims really been christian, then it would have been no problem to have blended with the Indians and lived a christian life together, infact there would be as many Native American Indians living today possibly with a mixed breed of red and white race, but No! The Indians would not worship the whiteman's God and Jesus who lives in a book, so the pilgrims killed the Indians in the name of God and Jesus.

Before 1492, there had never been a Bible, or church on American soil!!

Sir, you've been lied to, along with 300 million Americans the Bible has had over 2000 years to perfect it's lies. This is your wake-up call!!!

Now which do you prefer to believe, docummented history, or a book written by a bunch of dope head sheep herders?

Dear Mr. Stanley,

This will be the last time I will respond to your posts on this blog. If you are indeed interested in knowing the TRUTH. Then let's at least acknowledge that any claims made as being true, should be substantiated with reasonable evidence. Therefore, I highly recommend Josh McDonnell's book entitled "Evidence That Demands a Verdict" and Lee Strobel's book entitled "A Case for Christ".

Both of these books will provide you with overwhelming physical and circumstantial evidence to support the claims of Jesus Christ and the authenticity of the Bible as being divinely inspired and absolutely authoritative. You have nothing to loose to examine the evidence available. If I'm wrong, then you simply lost a few hours of meaningless reading, but if I'm right, you may just find yourself a recipient of God's mercy and a recipient of His eternal blessings.

Sincerely,
farese.com

Mr Farese,

Taking into consideration that you operate your PC with an apparatus extending out of your mouth---I would first like to say that it's admirable that you can interact on the internet, as well as do many other things that we healthy people take for granted in our day-to-day lives. Notwithstanding, your Jesus isn't helping you do these things---technology is helping you do these things. Jesus isn't keeping you alive---your family, with the help of technology, is keeping you alive. BTW, the books you mention as "reasonable evidence" are nothing more than two men's subjective interpretation of the Holy Bible. There are gaggles "books" that can easily refute both men, and I'll go out on a limb and say that you haven't bothered to read any of those, have you?

Farese: "Both of these books will provide you with overwhelming physical and circumstantial evidence to support the claims of Jesus Christ and the authenticity of the Bible as being divinely inspired and absolutely authoritative."

Circumstantial evidence is "absolutely" authoritive? Since when? By that logic, the Holy Q'ran is absolutely authoritive, too. You can't see the contradiction?

Farese: "...you may just find yourself a recipient of God's mercy and a recipient of His eternal blessings."

Not to be insensitive, but if your life is an example of "God's mercy", that's a type of mercy that I personally can do without.

Best regards.

Stanley

If your website is really calculated to bring people to abandon Christianity you need to do a lot better.

I would encourage people to visit it to see just how foolish atheism looks in the 21st Century.

Sincerely

Pilgrim

Back at ya, my responce to you, before it gets erased.

Your blog," In Fear and Faith "

About Me
I'm sick as hell and awkward to boot.

You come on my blog saying I'm bitter, but you prewarn people before entering your blog you're sick as hell!

This pretty much explains your mental capacity!

Then you post such ridiculous nonsense as "the secret heart is sacred"....lol if you only had an idea what you even wrote, you're just mimicking something that you've heard and you think it makes you sound intelligent, but in all reality you're quite ignorant, but it just happens to a point in your life that you're trying to seek truth through a book written by Arab opium-dopeheads, you'll change your way of thinking some day and tell me I'm right, it's happend before.

I also recommend you read all my articles, before you make such stupid comments!

P.S. Athiesm cannot be made to look foolish, it's never been done.

Many attempts have been made, but none have ever succeeded.

Most people especially Christians have absolutely no idea just what an Atheist is, all they know is what a preacher has told them because we are a threat to their money and agenda.

My blog tells what an Atheist is, BTW.
