WATERLOO Iowa --- A former youth minister at a Waterloo church has been arrested for having sexual relations with a 15-year-old girl at the church.
Michael Raymond Ross, 28, of 1845 Easton Ave., was arrested for sexual exploitation by a counselor and simple assault for incidents that happened between November 2004 and November 2005.
Bond was set at $9,750.
Ross is a licensed pastor through the
First Baptist Church in Topeka, Kan.. and was director of youth ministries at
Westminster Presbyterian Church in Waterloo from March 2003 until December 2005.
He became acquainted with a 15-year-old girl who was a member of the church youth group in early 2004. As their relationship progressed, he began inviting her over to his home to watch movies and eventually began giving her massages, according to court records.
In December of 2004, after she turned 16, Ross went to her home, and she masturbated him, records state. They had sexual intercourse in December 2004 and February 2005, records state.
The simple assault charge stems from a November 2005 incident where he forced her down on his bed and had her lie next to him, records state.

When will we realize that people in the church are like everyone else,....good ,bad and ugly,...etc ,etc,...
What is a 28 yr old church worker doing alone with a 15 yr old?????. Make this policy:-- Never spend time alone with kids in this day and age?...ever,..duh!
STAY IN GROUPS YA MORONS!!!!
He was apparently showing her how the ole Serpent beguiled Eve in the garden and she was decieved and mesmerized by it's charm.
And she did eat of the forbidden fruit thereof, and she became as one of us, having known good and evil.

Enough! We all get that you hate Christians and the constant sarcastic narratives are quite stale at this point. If you have something useful and insightful to say then say it. Prove to use that you have more to offer than piss and vinegar.
Respectfully,
Dave Poole
So please heal the hole in David Pooles Precious Baby Heart, these things I ask in Sweet Jesus's Holy Name amen and amen.
How was that David? You feeling better, Jesus never fails. You religious cretin!
Get over yourself.
Let's look beyond the whole "Christian religious stuff" and just focus on your behavior. Your behavior is 100% unacceptable. You do not need to treat people the way that you do. Christians are not your problem, religion is not your problem, atheists aren't your problem; your just a jerk. That's your problem. If every Christian, muslim, hindi, etc. disappeared today and all that remained were the atheists you would still be a jerk. Grow up. Life is far more pleasant for evryone, yourself included, if you put forth a little effort and just treat people with a little more respect. Try it sometime.
And wether I say it, or one of your allies says it, it is still true. So try to look beyond the author of this post and examine the actual text. Examine your own motives and behaviors, if you can.
Good luck.
Dave Poole
Oh wait, he was not a True Christian, was he? God is going to treat him the same way God shall treat the unbelievers -- by sending them through his human meat grinder. OK, it all makes sense again.
Why are you so struck on yourself?
Do you possess some unfound kmowledge that you are withholding from us just to make us all suffer?
Tell us David, how the universe was created and who brought the first humans and animals to this planet?
If you cannot tell us then, I see no need for you to waste anymore space on this websight, because you have nothing useful to contribute, I can atleast make sarcastic remarks to help those that have been infected with the religious mind disease think a little bit, which something that you've never experienced yourself.
And you call yourself a musician so you can get your self-glorification once a week, you self-loathing sob!
Best Wishes and God Bless You as the door hits you in the ass, as you leave!
I am not stuck on myself at all. We were talking about you, remember? And I also thought that we were going to leave all the religious stuff out of our little talk. I can't answer those questions, can you? If my ability to accuratly answer those questions determines if I can stay on the site, and it is OK for you to be here, then you must have the answers to those particular questions. Otherwise, according to your own criteria, there would be nop need for you to be here either. Did I get that right?
Waiting for answers
Actually, this site from what I understand per the webmaster, is to allow those who have found themselves at odds with religion in general, and christianity specifically, hence, "ex"-christian.net.
Personal experience, with christianity is enough to communicate a persons' displeasure with the religious cause in general, some give particular churches, and others doctrinal foundation. So, the insinuation that someone needs to have "more" than their experiences and the information derived from first hand observations of christianity and its most blatant shortcomings in order to be on this site, is utterly ridiculous.
Perhaps, you should write a proposal to the webmaster. If you believe you have information that contradicts what many of us have found with religion, specifically christianity, then pony up, you are the one trying to sell something, in contradiction with many of "our" first hand experiences.
So, you'd better have some pretty potent proof to beat out my own personal observations, and experiences while attending churches who proferred christian dogma. True, you did make it down the tube of love, so there is obviously some fight in you, but, now that you have developed a little hopefully, you can bring your "A" game as an adult to this conversation.
If you can't, and you have nothing to "give", then perhaps you can do what many of us do... support eachother with information regarding the abuse of christianity, so that we realize it wasn't "us", no, no, it really "was" the religious dogma, that supports the behaviors held by much of fundamental christianity. and much of that abuse continues throughout the world under varied denominational names.
david, if you are 'insulted' get out! geez.... i dun think any one of us ex-christians will like you here. coz we will b against wateva you say.
geez.... go and suck up to ur god man... stop coming here.
some ppl believe in god are stupid, think that their god will erase all their stupid sins... the biggest and most stupidest thing that ney can ever say 'believe in me, i will erase all the bad things done.'
so all their killing, raping and crap are all 'gone' and they are innocent... my ass!!!
Get one thing clear, shit-for-brains: no one invited your sorry ass in here. Go back to your prayer-group and praise jesus or whatever the fuck you fundies do. Do not come in here and whine and slobber about how we are unfair to xians. Get fucking lost, loser.
It is too bad I will be unable to stick around and hear your feeble response. Back Monday maybe.
I have an old Irish curse for you: "May you hang on a windy day."
The only person Ben seems to have offended is you. The rest of us get his sarcasm and wit. Some very insightful and clever people use humor as a way to expose bulls**t (as a christian, I'm sure you are not familiar with this concept). I personally do not think the pedophile in the original post deserves any kind of respect, ESPECIALLY a "christian" pedophile.
Ben, you're a funny guy!
I do understand the purpose of this website. I know that it is to support those who have left the Christian faith. Too often both Christians and non-Christians use this forum as an opportunity to bash the opposition. And yes, I realize that I have done that as well. I was just responding to Ben’s challenge according to the terms HE laid down. But thanks for the input.
To Anonymous,
In your post you said that no matter what Christians tell you it won’t matter. I quote “david, if you are 'insulted' get out! geez.... i dun think any one of us ex-christians will like you here. coz we will b against wateva you say.” You said it all right there. No matter what a Christian says you will not believe it. That’s real free thinking right there all right.
To Michelle,
If you read the threads that Ben posts in you will find that many people are offended by his posts. Generally he is addressing Christians so it’s all “fair game” I guess. If he were addressing non-xians that way I am sure others would tell him to cool it. And I do “get” his sarcasm. In my opinion that cutting, pointless sarcasm has run its course. We all liked the “where’s the beef lady” or the “time to make the donuts” guy, but after a while it wasn’t funny anymore. That course sarcasm just isn’t funny anymore. I do agree that if this pastor did these things then he needs to be held fully accountable to the furthest extent possible by law.
Dave Poole
When I was a christian, I was as obnoxious as it gets. One reason, among a million, why I left christianity was because I realized I was as obnoxious as the people I was hanging out with.
I have to say that you are one of the most obnoxious christians I ever met or read. You have no sense of humour and your arguments don't hold the water. Contrary to what you may believe, you haven't said even one thing that was logical or intelligent.
Ben is really funny...really, really funny. You don't find him funny? Well, that's great because pissing you off was exactly his purpose.
You, stupidly, fell right into his trap.
You should pray more so that god helps you be wiser, my friend. Maybe you should read Proverbs for a while. You could learn a thing or two.
Or maybe you could just stop posting here. That would be the best you could do.
Oh well, so much for answered prayer.
Oh wait a minute, all prayers are answered! The answer is always either yes, no, or wait.
Phew...
Answers = Evidence
Excuse = Using faith to seek answers
The whole point in seminary is to establish the need for "no answers", so "faith" can breath. A person of faith trying to answer a question, is contradictory.
DP, if you get an answer, then you no longer require "faith".
