Bishop William Ellis takes the stand
BY NATASHA KORECKI Federal Courts Reporter

They just heard that the bishop who stole hundreds of thousands of dollars from their church was headed for prison.

But it was as if they had been told a family member had died.

They held hands, sobbed, hugged and broke into song and prayer as the news of William Ellis' prison sentence swept over the sea of congregants that stuffed into a federal courtroom and overflowed into a courthouse hallway Tuesday.

They later stood in line to pay their tearful respects to Ellis, 62, former bishop of the Apostolic Pentecostal Church of Morgan Park, who was sentenced to 18 months in prison.

Owes IRS $165,000

He had pleaded guilty to felony tax fraud charges and admitted taking $1,000 a month from weekly collections. The feds say he stole $520,000 from 1996 to 2001 and owes the IRS about $165,000. They say he used church money to buy a second Mercedes Benz, even though the church already had given him a Mercedes for church business. They say he paid off his personal credit card debt and life insurance premiums with church money and racked up personal expenses on the church's American Express card.

Ellis was unemotional for most of his sentencing hearing, but when U.S. District Judge Robert Gettleman handed down the sentence, Ellis, who had begged the judge for mercy and asked for no jail time, broke.

"Jesus," he muttered, then began crying.

Ellis earlier vowed he would never break the law again.

"I'm sorry, I'm deeply crushed and humiliated by this act I have committed," Ellis told Gettleman.

Gettleman said he didn't enjoy sending Ellis to prison.

'We love Bishop Ellis'

"Cheating on taxes is a very serious matter," Gettleman said. "There's a way to do good deeds [with] church collections but it's not from skimming it off the top, putting it in your pocket," and deciding how to spend it.

After Gettleman recessed court, Ellis sank in his chair at the defense table and sobbed with a clenched hand pressed against his face. He sat there for at least 15 minutes as his supporters surrounded him and hugged him.

As he left the courthouse, one woman slowly shook her head and began to sing "Thank you Jesus, thank you." Another woman joined her as a third held her hand to her mouth and wept loudly.

Trying to keep away news cameras as Ellis left the downtown Dirksen Federal Building, his supporters formed a human chain, grasping one another's arms in a protective huddle around Ellis and slowly inching their way across the lobby in a giant mass. Many wore "We love Bishop Ellis" buttons.

Ellis, who is small in stature, was well hidden.

Outside, some of the 200-plus congregants flew into a brief melee, at one point shoving a Chicago Sun-Times photographer and later a television camerawoman. The crowd poured off the sidewalk and onto Dearborn Street, briefly blocking traffic as Ellis got into a cab.

They are the very people Ellis admitted stealing from. But one churchgoer, Annie Bond, said his lifetime of good works and love for the community outweighed any money he took. The congregation had forgiven Ellis but stripped him of his bishop status for three years. That should be his penance, they said; jail time was unnecessary.

'We will always be with him'

"What man can say he is without sin?" Bond asked. "We will support him, and we will always be with him."

"He is a lovable man," said another supporter, David Foster. "He gives up his heart to everyone."

Assistant U.S. Attorney Stephen Kubiatowski said the outpouring of support for Ellis made the case difficult.

But he said Ellis' actions were nonetheless illegal.

"It doesn't matter what your status is in the community," Kubiatowski said. "You still have an obligation to pay taxes."

Well the 7th circuit court of appeals ruled against this felon. After spending tens of thousands of dollars of the churches money on legal fees to try to save his rotten carcas, the judges saw through his crap. If you want to hear the proceedings and see the paperwork goe to the 7th circuit court of appeal website. He is such a fraud. Alifetime of good deeds????? What? Laying up with any woman who would have him? Conning widows and the poor? The money this fraud spent on his legal could have paid the heating bills and bought food for many families for an entire year. To the mindless ones who still think he is a martyr, he knew what he was doing. Since 1997 he ignored the advice of CPA's tax accountants, and Bishop's who pleaded with him to stop stealing. Anyone who chose to advise him was ostracized by this Jim Jones. There are dozens of mindless people who remain with him who if he asked them to dump, they would squat, grunt, and ask what color. It's good to see that those who stood for right will be vindicated.

Upon hearing this news it sadden my heart and I pray for the Bishop and for the families who was hurt in this process. I am just glad that he (Bishop Ellis) was exposed and that it was revealed before the more worse could have happened and that was to die in sin. God is able to forgive and heal even in this situation. My heart goes out to the people of God who was wounded by this. Our enemy is not each other our enemy is the devil who is behind every evil work! Come on people of God and remember what we war against!

I wrote an article on the tithing doctrine. Many ministers who teach tithing are sincere and do not misuse the money in the manner cited by the court here, but this shows another reason why there should be protections for the poor and elderly against the teaching of this false doctrine. People have to admit that there are those who will distort the Word of God for their own personal gain. I do not know the Bishop and I am certain that God has forgiven him if he has asked for such forgiveness. God's mercy is and has alwas been based on grace and not by works--including tithing. I pray for him and his family-including that he will come out of this experience a stronger Christian. God will bring him through this difficult time. I wish he could read my article.

Here is an excepts from my article AM I A THIEF?
A Personal Examination Of Whether Tithing Is Required By Christians

II.
Reigning As True Sons and Daughters of God

Over 2000 years ago, God gave Mankind a most precious gift---His Son Jesus Christ, who died at Calvary for our sins. By the shedding of His Blood, Jesus redeemed us from sin and from the curse of the Law. As part of the New Covenant, He made me and all who accept Him as their Lord and Savior, an heir to His promise of abundant living and blessing, promised healing in our lives and free from Satan’s power and authority. It is a free gift given to us by God if we simply accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. This gift is given to us out of God’s grace and not because of anything that we have done or can do in our lives. Part of this gift includes the power as Sons and Daughters of God to be completely free from Satan’s jurisdiction and to live as Abraham’s seeds and heirs according to His promise. It is the most precious gift that I have ever received in my life.

Now, I am taught with the doctrine of tithing that Jesus’ death did not redeem me from the curse of the Law, but I have to pay thousands a dollar a month to be free from the curse. I am taught that I have not been delivered from Satan’s authority unless I pay my local church money for this protection. I am taught that the power to bind Satan and cast him out comes from tithing and not from pleading the Blood of Jesus. I am implicitly told at offering time on Sunday that Jesus’ Death and Resurrection did not make me an heir to the promise, but my blessings will come from my works through the giving of tithes. This message is a trick of Satan. By allowing Christians to believe that their source of blessing and protection comes from their works (i.e. tithing) and not from the finished work of Jesus Christ, the New Covenant message is diminished if not completely destroyed. This is the problem with teaching tithing today.

Matthew E. Narramore, in his book “Tithing: Low Realm, Obsolete and Defunct,” zeroed in on the issue of why Christians need to be concerned about the prevalence of the tithing message in the Church today with the following observation:

The devil doesn’t mind tithing. He welcomes anything that will take our attention away from the truth in Christ. . . .Tithing is not a threat to the kingdom of darkness. The devil knows that the church would have more power, as well as money, if Christians were taught how to live like sons of God, who are in a spiritual union with Jesus Christ. He also knows that Christians could grow up spiritually and begin to reign in life if the confusion that comes from mixing the Old Covenant and New Covenant spiritual paradigms was removed from the church. That is more frightening to him than the increase of money that would flow into the church if the tithing mentality was abandoned. . . .[Satan] can’t defeat [the church] by direct attack so he uses deception. Power and victory come to believers through abiding in Christ with faith in His finished work. Satan’s strategy is to get their attention on other things that promise results but cannot deliver. . .The devil’s wooden horse is made of laws, rules, principles, formulas and other ways of living, borrowed from men who were not in spiritual union with Jesus Christ. Tithing is one of those things.

Contrary to popular belief, churches who teach tithing are not teaching their congregants to live like the Sons and Daughters of God in spiritual union with Jesus Christ. This is because the tithing doctrine contradicts the New Covenant and diminishes the death and resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We are taught to put our faith in tithing as the source of our protection from Satan and our source of blessings from God. This is directly contrary to what the Word of God tells us about our source of power from God based upon the shedding of the Blood of Jesus Christ. As we examine the history of tithing under the Old Covenant, take down notes of what you have been taught about why tithing is important and discern for yourself whether it advances or destroys the power of Christ’s finish work on the Cross.

I pray at the conclusion of this study that when someone tells you in Old Covenant language that if you tithe, God will “open the windows of heaven and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it,” you will be able to respond in New Covenant language, that “ And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed and heirs according to his promise.” [Galatians 3:29]

If someone tells you in Old Covenant language, that if you do not tithe, “ye are cursed with a curse: for ye have robbed me, even this whole nation [Mal. 3:9], you will be able to respond in New Covenant language that there is no curse upon us in Christ. Jesus Christ bore it and “hath redeemed us from the curse of the law.”[Galatians 3:13]

If someone tells you in Old Covenant language, that God will rebuke the devourer on your behalf if you tithe, you can tell him or her that Christ has already defeated Satan, redeemed us from his works and delivered us out of his authority. We are not waiting for God to rebuke the devourer. Instead, Christ has given his Sons and Daughters the authority and the responsibility to enforce His completed work and that is why the Bible tells us: “Behold I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” [Luke 10:19]. The power to bind the devil and cast him out in the name of Jesus is not based upon whether one gives 10% of their income to a particular church, but is because of the shedding of the Blood of Jesus. Under the New Covenant, the Body of Christ is completely redeemed. Satan is defeated and we are no longer under sin or under a curse. The Blood of Jesus paid the debt 100% for our complete deliverance and there is nothing that we can do, even tithing, to add to it:

For as much as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precision blood of Christ, as a lamb without blemish and without a spot. [1st Peter 1:18-19].

As Narramore further observes:

In the New Covenant, we are redeemed. It is finished work. It does not have to be redone every time we get a paycheck. Satan is defeated. We are not under his jurisdiction. We are not under a curse. The blood of Jesus paid the total price for our deliverance and there is nothing we can do to add to it.

In sum, God’s New Covenant principles for Giving and supporting the church is separate from and superior to any teaching of tithing. God has an ownership of 100% of us –which encompasses every aspect concerning us including our money, our time and our possessions. Under the New Covenant, the Holy Spirit will guide each person individually on what God requires from us, not some fixed percentage.

Yes, and there are many, many Christians who would take the exact opposite stance, always based on the Babble (Bible), of course.

Here's a couple:
THE LAW OF TITHING

Tithing, the last frontier

The point is, when it comes to the Babble, and interpreting it, Christians cannot agree on much because there are too many contradictions. And, there is obviously no magical, mysterious, Holy Spirit, that is unifying HIS people and leading HIS people into all truth.

There are, however, quite a few REAL people who have figured out that the religiously inclined make great patsies.

All I have to say is that Bishop is still a Man of God.He was given the annointing by God and the title by man. Which is greater. That's why you ought to keep your mouth off the Annointed or judgemnet shall follow you. I don't even know him but I have enough sense not judge an annointed one for all have sinned even you that will read this.Just think of David, that was a sin that couldn't be undone. He had a man killed, which couldn't be fixed and committed adultery which couldn't be undone.BUT MOST OF ALL GOD STILL LOVED HIM AND HE WAS USED MIGHTYLY.God Bless

Anonymous reacher said...
Jermaine, I think you may be wrong. Who said that he was a man of God?? You?? Jesus said that a tree is known by it's fruit. Jesus said that many false prophets shall arise and deceiva many, but BY THEIR FRUIT SHALL YOU KNOW THEM. Don't mistake oratorical skill for the anointing. There are many people that have oratory skill, but their lives don't back up their speech. You Don't know him, but I did, personally. The fruit of his ministry is broken homes, divorces, fraud, deceit, adultery, etc. If the case had gone to trial, much about his character, or lack thereof, would have come out. Why is it that lying adulterous men that call themselves preachers want to compare themselves to David? Ellis is no David!! He's a lot more like a man named Mr. Jones. Jim Jones to be exact.

Anonymous Preacha said...
Go to the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals website, click on opinions. To pull up case information type in the name Ellis under last name. When the information comes up, there are two options, one is for an audio of the appeal before the 7th Circuit, the other is for a transcript of the Appelate Courts ruling. You must have windows media player.
I'm sorry to hear that you are still under this guy's leadership. If you really want to know what he's about, ask a former Board or Executive Board member. Most of them have first hand information and had to testify before a Federal Grand Jury.

Unfortunately I know so much because I was there. I had been a member of that church for 15 years before he got there. I was amoung those that told him years ago (1997)that what he was doing was illegal and that he could go to jail, but obviously he chose to ignore. I was amoung over a dozen people who had to testify before a Grand Jury in this case. Actually, he is supposed to report to prison sometime this month to start serving his 18 months. What's most disturbing is that we are discussing this on a website for ex-christians. Ellis' actions are the very reason many people give for abandoning the church or not wanting to have anything to do with it in the first place. The sick thing is that he wants to act like he is a victim.

Anonymous Jeff said...
To Jermaine, There's a book written just for the intensive purpose to forgive men it's called the Bible.

The stories of the Bible were created and invented just for one cause, to forgive Men!

The Bible was written by men, for men, to forgive men.

To conveniently say that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, this gives people the permission to commit any crime or wrong in society and then run back to Jesus and get instant forgiveness for things they have done wrong, that they knew they should have not done in the first place.

When will people learn that the Bible is a book that gives people permission to do ungodly things and then turn around and get godly forgiveness.

No, the son wasn't charged. He (the youngest) pretty much wasn't around. while most of this was taking place. By the way, which son? But none of them were charged.

I understand that a lot of people are now bitter towards Pator Ellis, however, I feel that if you can parade in joy and be happy for Michael Jackson, who messed with children, then you can forgive this man of GOD!!

For those of you who are bitter towards Pastor Ellis, what made you put all your trust in him anyway?? All your trust is should be put in GOD anyway!!! You are really placing him in a position higher then the man of God, so who's at fault here?? Pastor Ellis or YOU???

You know, I dont understand our people some times. We always stab each other in the back and are always against each other for whatever reasons. People get caught up all the time doing illegal shit. I know Mr. Ellis is a man of God and has a tital that goes along with his name, but forgivness is a must. We hear about people every day doing fucked up shit, worst than what he did, and we will never think twice about it. Well, think twice about this situation. NO ONE is perfect, NO ONE!!! He will sit down for while, get his head and thoughts together, and come out a new man.

Shit like this happends everyday!! Have you looked at the bigger picture? Have you done your part in life? Have you done anything to help prevent shit like this from happening? If you have answered NO to any of these question, I would have to advise you to take a step back and look at yourself!!

I have been in a situation similar to what he is in, so I know how it feels from both ends. You??????? I know what type of site I am on, and I feel that I have to defend him, because you people on the board suck!! Just like Black people, so quick to talk shit about other people and never look at you damn self. You never stole from anyone??? If you answered no, quit lying. No difference.

Anonymous Preacha said...
The car notes and light bills etc. were for women that he was maintaining a relationship with or trying to get a relationship with. There is a huge misnomer that this guy did lots of good works. He did not. He never came out of his pocket personally with money for anyone (other than a woman). He would put large amounts of money in the offering (as a big front) and then have it returned to him later. Classic con artist.

No Bill, Jr. wasn't charged. He pretty much wasn't around while most of this was happening. He moved to Chicago when the stuff started to hit the fan.

Wrong on both counts tough guy. Yes I do know the man personally and he knows me. When I see him at the mall or in a restaurant I shake his hand and say hello to him. I'm man enough to back up what I say. There's nothing that I've written here that I wouldn't or haven't said personally. As far as wanting what he has, I live pretty well off (2 college degrees) I vacation in places he has never been, and I didn't steal anything from anyone. No church pays the notes on my (2) luxury cars, nor on my vacation condos.

Time of day? The last time he saw me he asked when I was coming to his church. If I called him on the phone right now he would talk to me or meet with me. But I choose not to, soooo you have no clue what you are talking about.

It sounds more to me that you are a hater, a hater against anyone who dares defy your god (Ellis). Are you one of those mindless ones who stood outside the Federal Courthouse in Chicago and acted like an animal when the felon was convicted??? Are you a member of his cult? Yes cult, because he tries to control the minds of his followers. It sounds like it because you all talk the same crap. Many of you if he said dump you would squat, grunt and ask what color. Don't get mad at me because your god (Ellis) is a fraud and a convicted felon.

No wanna be anything, I'm satisfied with were I am and who I am. I don't let your or anyone elses simple minded opinion of me affect my self esteem in the least bit.

On second thought you are right, I am a hater. I hate the way this fraud deceives God's people into believing he is some great something. I hate the way he controls the minds of sincere people, and has them living in fear. Fear that if they leave his congregation, that they are somehow destined for hell. I'm more sorry for those who remain under his twisted leadership than I am for him.

Be intellectually honest and think for yourself, stop swinging off of his jock and man up.

The only people who can really said something are the ones who were there. I was there long before he came--15 yrs. It was nice for the first 5yrs he was there, I guess he was setting us up,wheeling us in, smooth us with his words. But the last 5yrs was a scene out of terrible nightmare. I must admitt I was caught-up with his way of preaching, but I had to stop shouting and open my ears. Any preacher who cause division among the Saints of God to make themself look-good is wrong. He just did not only stole money, but he broke-up relationship, freindship and our church family. We had a loveing caring church. I had never seen witchcarft perform on this large scale as it was and still is .He would call people who did not agree with or read any paper about his case the Enemies. This is because he did not want anyone to find out the truth--he did not tell us anything. We found out when the news reported it. WOW, what a way to hear this about your pastor. All the lies he told us and then he try to put the blame on other people. I am sad that I had to leave my church, but I could not sit under him any longer. My advice for anyone who knew what was going on and still going on GET OUT. Why sit under someome who is using the church money to pay his court fees, but will not have a business meeting to see how much the debet the church is really in.

To Anon 1/25;

You hit the nail right on the head. If you were there that length of time, we probably know each other. The other unfortunate thing is that he used the board also. We approached him privately (not wanting to rebuke a bishop)about the matter a decade ago. He initially gave the impression that he would change. As you can see he never did. There were many on the Board who disagreed with the thievery, and left. We were branded enemies of God, rebels, traitors, etc. That's why I can say firsthand that this guy is one of the biggest con-artists and master manipulators that I have ever met in life. The other spineless ones remained. I refused to lie to the IRS or before a Grand Jury when I was questioned.

I'm glad to see that you managed to escape from his web of deceit.

Like I've said many times, the reproach Ellis brought is just more fodder for those to justify their anti-Christian views. Shame on him!

This entirely negates free will, and denotes that we are all robots or chess pieces in some chess match. WRONG!
Your man Ellis did what he did not because it was written for him to do, nor because it was time for him to do it, but rather because he was and is a greedy, self-centered, controlling Jim Jones. nothing more nothing less.

That sits in God’s church and proclaims that he is Lord? But you have brought added shame to the church of the living God. "But you have brought added shame to the church of the living God."

Correction, it was your leader who brought shame and a reproach on the church of the living God. It was his actions (thievery, deceit)that was the catalyst for all of this.

"Your tongue has laid the foundation for your own judgement."

OOOOH I'm trembling in my boots, I'm really afraid now. Why it it that your leader never wants to take responsibility for anything?? He wants to act like a martyr, and lay the blame everywhere except where it squarely belongs, on his narrow shoulders. What about his actions laying the foundation for his own judgement. He has never, ever apoligized for stealing the hard earned contributions of the membership. He lies and says that he is the sacrifice for those that didn't get caught. Get caught?? He was the only one stealing. Your cult leader is one of the most artful con men that I have ever met. Too bad that many have not yet awaken to realize it. And that lying prophet T.H. that you have preaching to you. The bible says that if they speak not according to this law, it is because there is no light in them, that's T.H.

Now W.A.E. sits where he belongs, in a 4x8, and the mindless wait and check off the calender for when their god will return to them.

I'm not hiding behind anything. All of my posts speak as to who I am. Out of the six billion or so people on this planet, I am one of only about a dozen poeple who has the inside information that I have. That makes it pretty easy to narrow it down. There are probably hundreds maybe thousands of Keke's in Chicago, but only ten or twleve that know what I know. That's who the hell I am.

The man called preacha or Elder W.
You are a hater. Are you mad because he brought his son Billy from Texas and placed him over you. Now you fill the need to tell the truth because you are not assistant pastor. Would you have said anything if you were his assistant? NOT!!!!

Anonymous Preacha said...
The silence is deafening. Where are all of the staunch supporters of Ellis, who along with that con-artist insisted that he was innocent and would be vindicated? Well he is vindicated all right, in Federal custody at Oxford.

To anonymous 4/27.

Wrong on both counts tough guy. I left long before Billy even came. I Know Elder W. and I am not him. The truth is the light. I would not be his assistant or anything else under him because the man is a fraud. Why would I want to be assistant under a convicted felon?
All of them need to go back to Texas so that a church that existed for 80 years can get cleaned up. You can call it hating or whatever, but your god Ellis is a lying convicted felon. I refused to lie to the IRS, I refused to lie before a Federal Grand Jury, and I refuse to lie here!

For all those who believe that all these supposed teachers of the word of God can be compared to God's Beloved David, and cannot see them for what they are. I will tell you the difference. 1. David sinned against God 1 time and he begged forgivness ripping his clothes in tears. 2. When God judged David he never asked for leniency in his sentence but accepted the judgement of God, to the extent of letting the people know that this was Gods judgement against him. 3. David never commited such a sin again. I went to another Bishops church that this man came to, and that bishop and others that came to minister there all seemed the same. So was i surprised when bishop Ellis our head Boshop came to our church and said "God will Bless you if you let me shake your money hand" and for those who did not have money they could not get blessed by God. I was not suprised that he said that, because his Bishops under him said the same things. Bragging constantly about their cars, and 400k or more houses, 1k suits and shoes, all while complaining that the house of God cannot pay it's Electric bill. When will our people stop following these false prophets/pimps of another God. and recognise their deceit. It was not the Judge of men that Judged Bishop Ellis It was God who had tried before to send men like Precha to warn him of his wrong and unlike David he did not stop. And then when God finally laid his judgement down he had the nerve to ask leniency. Is that David like? I love God and Jesus, and i am not a ex christian because i am not a religious man, because religious people follow the man and not the God. I am a Saint, Child of God, the faithful, and i follow my God, and you do not need a church to do that. Bishop Got what he deserved and so will the Bishops we followed at one time. They are wrong, and hurting the children of God and for that God will not only judge them in this life but the here after. Amen

To some people character and integrity is more important than having a position. E tried to buy my silence with a position, but it does not work on me.

Besides Billy is not that bright. I've heard of some of the things that he has said. Some of his actions and words are reprehensible. How could you people sit there and let that moron call you the N-word????

I guess the apple does not fall far from the tree. All of the foaming at the mouth Ellis suporters are deathly silent now that their god is incarcerated.
He actually had the nerve to say, "Jesus went to jail, John the Baptist went to jail, Paul and many of the Apostles went to jail".
My response is yes, but they didn't go to jail for stealing money.

Preacha, I am a former P.A.W pastor I also knew a little about Ellis. But he is just the tip of the iceburg, of mass corruption, abuse, sexual immorality that appears to run unimpeded with these groups. The fact that this man is still considered the pastor of the assembly is as equally shameful. What is his status to date is he serving time & where?

Preach, Thanks for being honest, you don't have to disclose your name to these people.Their egos know that your telling the truth. They don't want to admit that they have been manipulated for so long. I was in the P.A.of W for over 20 years bfore I allowed my eyes to be opened. I could see that things were not right from the beggining, and the longer I stayed around it became apparent, these people not all mainly the minister were just pretending. Using the pulpits for for pay checks and manipulating scriptures through fear to control the people. I became eye witness to cocaine, alcohol abuse, homosexual relationships, embezzelment and misappropriation of monies & that was just among the leadership. I question this holy ghost that allows for this inappropriate & illegal behavior & looks the other way. Many of these people have never been in possession of a spirit of God.When I asked questions I immediatly became a trouble maker & of course a devil. I held a positon in the Council & meet an heard Ellis speak. I was never taken in by him, while other shouted & clapped I only saw a showman. I don't grieve for hi, but for the terribly missguided masses that actually believe this or any of the men & women that commit these heinous acts. The people are becoming more, more delusional, with the worship of the false prophets you know the Todd Halls and all. It is only a matter of time before these people self destruct. (BTW, they still believe their going to heaven in a rapture)It has been some years know since my departure from that insanity, and it has been the best few years of my life. (Anon 7/5)

Anon 7-5 Former Pastor,

It's incredible that you've seen in depth some of the same garbage, that I have serious issues with. I'm sure from your experience, you know that it's a lonely place to stand on your convictions. Unfortunately, character and integrity seems to be missing amoung many of the so-called church folk, especially leaders. What disturbs me most is the manipulation that comes from the heads, to control the minds of sincere people. Ellis was a master mind manipulater, and an extremely artful con-artist. He would twist scriptures, use lying prophecy, and fear to control and manipulate people. That lying prophet T.H. that you mention on many occasions so-called prophetically spoke that Ellis would not serve any prison time. The people would then work themselve up into an emotional frenzy, and act like out of control animals. We see now that T.H. was and is a liar. Now the latest gimmick is to tell those mindless fearful members that remain not to associate with anyone that left that place. And that if anyone left they would be out of God's will. That anyone would had anything to do with Ellis going to prison and that anyone who associates with them would be cut off. those clowns speaking that garbage better be carefu, it could be them or their false idol god (Ellis) who could be cut off. There are people that I personally know that are sincere, who are afraid to move. That's why when I hear these foaming at the mouth Ellis suporters I know that they are as brainwashed and disallusioned as those that went to hell with Jim Jones.

Peace.

Preacha, I guess in the real way of thinking the departure of Biship Braizer, although not a shinning exammple of moral example himself, would humble the P.A.W. Shamefully, I was informed that when Braizer announced his descision at the Board of Bishops Session in Indianopolis, Bishop Bowers went after Braizer with physical intent, and had to be restrained, whats wrong with these men. I've known for a while that they do not represent Jesus, now its only becoming clear, by their actions.According to the Chicago press many other IL, churches are leaving and may put a fiancial strain on the P.A.of W.

Titus 2:11,12 says, "the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men teaching us that denying ungodliness and worldly lusts we should live soberly, righteously, and Godly in this present age." Was this so called bishop experiencing the grace of God that brings salvation? If so then why was he not shunning worldly lusts? Why was he not living soberly and Godly as the apostle demonstrates? Jude 4 says that there are those who turn the grace of God into lewdness. And it seems like most of the Bishops supporters believe in this sort of grace which is not grace at all but rather disgrace. Isaiah 59:2 says that sin separates from God. A man wrote in saying that this bishop was anointed. And I wonder by who? By the Holy Spirit? Are we sure about that? Was it because he flopped around on the ground in church? Is that a sign of anointing? I guess rock stars have been anointed for a long time then and we are just now catching on. Acts 5:32 says that "the Holy Ghost is given to those that obey" This man was not obeying and thus he was not anointed. He would have been obeying if he was experiencing the grace of God that brings salvation rather than the grace of God that turns God's mercy into a love of sin. What a joke. This man was a false shepherd and it is an obvious example of man worship that would lead people to say otherwise.

To Matt,

Very well put. Most of his foaming at the mouth supporters could not see through the smokescreen of his charisma, to see that underneath was lurking a ravenous wolf in sheeps clothing. It is obvious that they have not been studying the Word.

It seems like you've been hurt in the church precha

To Preacha:
Be careful how you speak about the man of God. Matthew 7:1 states, "JUDGE NOT, that ye be not judged." David sinned, Jonah ran, and Peter denied, but they all recovered. Dont't forget that the call is greater than the fall. Jesus declares in John 8:7 "He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone." I know this may not change your opinion, but hopefully it will open your eyes.

Amen, anonymous! Touch not mine anointed! Whatever the man of GOD does, he is blessed by GOD! Beware judging a man of GOD! Let the man of GOD be true and every man a liar!

With this kind of mentality, it is no wonder that religious charlatans are able to so easily take advantage of Christian sheeple.

No I haven't been hurt other than to see snakes like this take advantage of sincere people and defraud widows.

To Anonymous 2/25 (2):

My eyes have been open for a long time.

Who said that Ellis was a man of God? him? you? since you like to quote scripture, the same Jesus also said that a tree is known by it's fruit, many FALSE prophets and many FALSE christs shall arise and shall deceive many, but BY THEIR FRUIT SHALL YOU KNOW THEM. Again I will say as I have said many times before (see above) that Ellis' fruit is lying, adultery, broken homes, mind control, deceit, etc., etc,. I do not fear for one millisecond to speak out against this lying hypocrite or any other. It is your god (Ellis) who needs to fear for the recompense for what he has done to the sincere flock. You ever read the scripture that says "WOE to the pastors who scatter my sheep"? Everyone of Ellis' foaming at the mouth suppoters want to run around talking about touch not my anointed, who ever said that he was anointed? Oratorical skills and the ability to arouse emotions in a crowd of mindless poeple do not the anointing make. Lets take those scriptures that you quoted in context. They all did not just recover, they had to do some thing first that something is called REPENT! Ever heard of it?? Ellis has never apologized nor taken responsibility for his actions. He lied in U.S. District Court, lied behind the pulpit, and continues to lie. To the contrary, Ellis' mantra is that every one that had something to do with him going to prision will be cut off. Sounds like classic mind control to me. Keep watching, I guarantee, that if he does not change when he gets out of prison later this year, he will be the one cut off.

You people sit around and let that mindless moron Billy call you the N-word?? Puleeesse. Think for yourself.

I DENIE THE HOLY SPIRIT!!!

Prophet Wil Hamilton,
The word of the Lord came to me in Sept of 2006, and the Lord told me he was going to expose these "shepherds" who were guilty of fleecing, abusing, misusing and neglecting His people. I have been hearing of thousands of pastors who have been found guilty by God of these atrocious crimes, and have had to reap for what they have sown. However, the word also tells us in Galatians 6:1 that if we see our brother overtaken in a fault, we are to restore. No matter what these people may have done they are still God's servants, and I serve notice to all who have "judgmental
spirits". If you don't have any kind of positive "Godly" comments to help restoration come, it would be wise for you to keep your mouths closed & off of the servants of the Lord.Whether you like it or not, that's exactly what they still are.
You will also face the latter part of Gal 6:1 as well as give an account to God in the day that you appear before the judgment seat of Christ!

Dear Christian guest,

Until you provide objective evidence that your religious rhetoric has a referent in reality, your words(including your threats) are as meaningful to me as "The Old Lady who Lived in a Shoe".

Unless/until you provide such evidence, we will keep exposing the fraud; we will keep driving home the point that no minister; no pastor; no preacher...that no human being, period, is being guided by any spooks, holy ghosts, devils, or living cadavers.

Bye now.

(I really dislike the assumption of authority coupled with threats)

Hey Willy, I think you need to stop telling the people who post here how they should or should not behave.

"The word of the Lord came to me in Sept of 2006, and the Lord told me he was going to expose these "shepherds" who were guilty of fleecing, abusing, misusing and neglecting His people."

Bullshit! You just got a bug up your ass about this shit and decided to pay attention. Or, you're lying through your teeth and in reality you just don't care because you're one of those that are fleecing, abusing, and screwing people over for you own selfish desires.

"I have been hearing of thousands of pastors who have been found guilty by God of these atrocious crimes..."

No you have not. You may have been hearing about thousands of pastors who have been found guilty by HUMANS in a court of law, but your imaginary friend most certainly had nothing to do with the verdict.

"However, the word also tells us..."

Untill you can provide some credible evidence that "the word" is from a deity there is NO reason anyone should take it as anything more that a fairy tale.

"No matter what these people may have done they are still God's servants..."

No, they are serving themselves.

"... and I serve notice to all who have "judgmental
spirits"."

Ooooooh. Big scary internet christo-geek is "serving notice". Piss off ya dink. You seem to have your own "judgemental spirit" to deal with first.

"If you don't have any kind of positive "Godly" comments to help restoration come, it would be wise for you to keep your mouths closed & off of the servants of the Lord"

HA! How about this for a "godly" comment:

Fuck you.

There. Now take your silly shit and go give some underhanded threats to someone who might actually be fearful of your little imaginary friend.

"Whether you like it or not, that's exactly what they still are."

Nope. They are not and never were, whether you like it or not.

"You will also face the latter part of Gal 6:1 as well as give an account to God in the day that you appear before the judgment seat of Christ!"

You wish. But wishing doesn't make it true, does it. So please go back under your bridge, little troll, and leave us grownups to take care of things. M'kay.

"Prophet" (yeah, right...) Wil: "The word of the Lord came to me in Sept of 2006..."

Unsupported assertion. May I suggest that you prove (through testable empirical evidence, not scripture or personal testimony) that your god actually exists before you pretend to be its mouthpiece.

"However, the word also tells us..."

Don't give a rat's ass what 'the word' tells you.

"...and I serve notice to all who have 'judgmental spirits'... it would be wise for you to keep your mouths closed & off of the servants of the Lord... Whether you like it or not, that's exactly what they still are."

Bullshit. There are no 'servants of the Lord' except in their own minds.

We will not be silenced. And if your invisible friend has a problem with that, it can come and tell us that in person.

Critical thinkers, are aware that christianity as all religion is fruad.
The Cult of Christianity is America's State controlled religion. The christian cannot worship the illusion called "god', unless it is granted 501c3 (tax-excempt)status.
The christion is just dellusional enough, to believe that his first loyalty is to his god, but the facts are, that his first priority is to FICA then to tithes.
It's evident, when a sc-man of god is convicted of embezzling, thousands or millions,do a federal stint, released & retains his possition as pastor. This speaks to the gross mental illness which prevails christianity.
